Research Park:
The University created the best University research Park in Russia and is updating its laboratory facilities day by day. The St Petersburg University Research Park now provides cutting-edge research facilities, serving as an experimental base for scientific research at a totally new level. The St Petersburg University Research Park possesses cutting-edge research facilities (worth more than 7.5 billion roubles), serving as an experimental base for scientific research at a totally new level. Even now the core equipment runs an average of 16 hours per day. The Research Park is also a team of highly qualified professionals (over 250 people), who are certified to maintain and operate the equipment. Currently there are 26 resource centres.
Library:
The M. Gorky Scientific Library collection was founded over 230 years ago. Today, the Library is a large modern information centre with access to world scientific information. The Library print collection runs to 7 million copies and almost 2.4 million titles. The Library includes the Central Research Library and 21 subject libraries. It has 40 thousand current users, 30 thousand of them are students. E-library has over 80 mln. Copies.
Sport and art:
Sport Complex of the University includes 2 stadiums, swimming pool, different 27 sport venues, basket-ball, volley-ball, training grounds, football field. There University houses sport clubs in rowing and boat racing, alpine climbing, badminton, basket-ball, volley-ball, athletics, table tennis, swimming, rugby, dancing, tennis, hockey, chess, orienteering, fencing, multisport competitions, yachting, e-sport and others.
Each year, over 5,000 students take part in the sports competitions at SPbU. 300 students are members of 19 SPbU’s teams in 15 sports.
15 students of SPbU are the members of the Russian National teams.
Among SPbU’s students, there are 3 masters of sports of international class and 15 master of sports of Russia. SPbU’s teams have 31 Candidates of Sports, while 72 students have the athletic titles.
SPbU collaborates with the Rugby Union of St Petersburg, Union of Grass Hokey of the Russian Federation, Climbing Union of St Petersburg, and Rowing Centre.
The University has its studio-theatre, founded in 1944, academic chorus, youth chamber orchestra.
Dormitory:
All foreign students who come to study at Saint-Petersburg State University with “Global Education” are provided with places at university dorms. There are 21 student hostels in the structure of the University.
All accommodation is furnished for living and studying; the halls have laundry facilities, cafes, canteens, shops, gyms and fitness facilities, and ATMs. All rooms have Internet access.
